Course Detail

Please arrive early so you can set up your laptop and workspace before class as we start PROMPTLY.

Our goals for the class:

• 3 college admissions/scholarship essays, ready for submission

  • 1 essay tailored to the Common Application

  • At least 2 additional essays, tailored toward scholarship applications

Required items:

• Positive attitude:  You can do this!

• Pens, pencils, and legal pad or spiral notebook for not taking and scribble

• A laptop with a charger

• Your active participation and efforts outside of camp hours

What you can expect during the camp:

• Light snacks and water provided

• Day 1

  • Brainstorming numerous story ideas

  • Information session  with Randy Trevino, private college admissions consultant

  • Receive in-depth feedback from instructors

• Day 2

  • Choosing several stories and beginning first drafts

  • Receive in-depth feedback from instructors

• Day 3

  • Continue drafting and begin polishing 

  • Receive in-depth feedback from instructors

• Day 4

  • Final essays review and polish

  • Receive in-depth feedback from instructors
